South African artist, Suzanne Metz, immigrated to Toronto in 1986. She works in a wide range of media, from charcoal, pencils, oil and soft pastels to acrylic paints on both paper, plaster, and both primed and raw canvas.
While Suzanne’s earlier work reflects the earthy, warm colours of her past in South Africa, more recently Suzanne has added pure colours and vibrant graffiti elements to her pieces. This new dimension has allowed Suzanne to express herself using the written word unique to graffiti art, in combination with her own personal aesthetic.
