French born self-taught sculptor Julien Peltier creates unique objects of organic simplicity. Based in Vancouver, Canada, Julien believes in handmade and sustainable woodwork. He finds inspiration in the brutalism and minimalist movements as well as traditional Japanese woodworking techniques.
Cracks, defects and organic aspects of his pieces serve to react against an excess of perfection in modern furniture. At the peak of simplicity, his work sits on timelessness, beauty and the natural occurring characteristics of wood.
